During my studies at Projector, I worked on an illustration brief which required me to create a series of black-and-white illustrations for five different stories, without using human or animal shapes. 

I chose to bring these stories together under one series using light. I was doing sketches on paper however the final works were made with different pencil brushes in Procreate. 

The stories that I chose to illustrate were Ambrose Bierce's "Chickamauga”, Conrad Aiken's "Mr. Arcularis”, Brothers Grimm's "The Robber Bridegroom”, Shirley Jackson's "The Lottery”, and Mare (folklore).
